Woman:
When you say foveal vision, is that like phobia?

John:
Possibly… Lookover at that circle on the wall. So you can see my hand moving easily. The periphery of your eye is built to detect movement. The foveal vision is builtto detect color. You see grays in your peripheral vision largely. So they are really two systems; in fact, there are pathologies of the eye where you lose either foveal or peripheral vision differentially showing that there are different tracks. Another way to do it is under certain kinds of nicely altered states you get tunnel vision, that is, all you have is foveal vision disappears.

Judy:
Don Juan says that after "stopping the world" the next step is "seeing" which hedefines as "responding to the perceptual solicitations of a world outside the description we have learned to call reality.
